Hologic was MD+DI's 2020 Readers’ Choice Company of the Year, and the company continues to make headlines. Hologic has already announced this year the acquisitions of Biotheranostics, Diagenode, and Somatex Medical Technologies, adding to its diagnostics portfolio.
In this episode of Let's Talk Medtech, Kevin Thornal, Hologic's Division President, Diagnostic Solutions, discusses the company's efforts to expand the reach of its diagnostics offerings as well as to address unmet needs in oncology and more. He also explains the company's slogan, "The Science of Sure," and why it is important to keep patient needs in mind every day.
"Really for us, every single result that we give is potentially a life-changing event for that patient—and so we really believe that every result has to be right," Thornal says.
Thornal has been with the company since 2014 and has served in a number of key roles over the years. He started in 2014 as vice president, customer experience, field service and clinical applications for the breast and skeletal health division, and then in 2016 moved to vice president, breast and skeletal health for the Europe, Middle East and Africa region. He was promoted to president, medical aesthetics in July 2017, and then promoted to his current position in July 2019.
