Michael Friedrich is CEO of Distalmotion. He previously founded and led Aïmago as CEO, which sold to Novadaq in 2014 for $12m. A serial entrepreneur, early investor in Distalmotion, and CEO of the company since 2016, Friedrich has a track record of turning early-stage technology into a market-ready product and company. As CEO of Distalmotion, his mission is to remove the complexity in robotic surgery to fast-track its widespread adoption in healthcare. To do so, Distalmotion has developed Dexter, a surgical robot manufactured in Switzerland that combines the affordability of laparoscopy with the benefits of robotic solutions to pioneer simplicity and versatility in the market for minimally invasive surgical care. Distalmotion’s vision is to establish a new global standard of care to allow everyone to access the benefits of robotic surgery.
