The word "amazing" is tossed around a lot, but there are many medical advances in development that are truly incredible, or at least could be in the near future.

A decade from now, if you lose a limb, you may be able to get a replacement that is practically indistinguishable from the original, calling to mind Luke Skywalker's prosthetic arm in The Empire Strikes Back. Further into the future, if you need a replacement organ, you could have a new one 4-D printed (3-D printing is so 2015). Or perhaps organs such as hearts, livers, or kidneys can be cyrogenically frozen and thawed, like a bag of peas in the freezer. Or imagine being operated on by a Google-powered surgical robot that could make surgery safer than it ever has been. No matter what, a lot more options are on the way when it comes to repairing broken human bodies. The dreams of science fiction seem closer than ever before.
