Patients Eager To Access Data Including Medical Imaging Through Online Portals (infographic)

Patients can engage in their own health by accessing more information abou themselves through patient portals. For instance, hospitals or primary care clinics can have patient portals that allow patients to view their own imaging data. Earlier this year, Carestream, a healthcare supplier of imaging and information technology commissioned a survey to gauge patient sentiment around patient portals and came away with the conclusion that many of the myths surrounding patient adoption and use of the portal can be safely dismantled.

For instance, many believe that because of age, patients won't really use patient portals to accesss data. But the curvery revealed that 59 percent of respondents over 71 years were very likely to use an image portal.
