Big Data is Growing Rapidly And Every Body Is Responsible (infographic)

Data production will occur 44 times faster in 2020 than in 2009

A sizeable chunk of that will be healthcare data, which is growing rapidly. And every body is responsible for it.

Below, an infographic shows how the human body is a source for big data. A 3-D MRI of the brain, for instance, requires 150 megabytes of storage space. In fact, 63% of respondents in a survey released 2012 said that picture archiving and communication systems (PACS) is the top driver of data growth, followed by 61% who pointed to electronic health records.
