Vacuum Chamber Systems Guarantee Absolute Validation, Low Residual Oxygen

A line of vacuum chamber sealers has been specifically engineered to meet or exceed the validation requirements of medical product manufacturers. Makers of sensitive medical products such as implantable devices, which require assurance of low residual oxygen inside the package, can deploy the C400 TC or C500 TC systems to guarantee results. Both models are built with solid seal bars, enabling a constant and verifiable temperature over the entire sealing surface throughout the full sealing cycle. The systems offer a validation package that is compliant with ISO 11607 standards. Additional features include precision parameter control and alarm capabilities, production data acquisition, visual and acoustic alarming, and external calibration and validation ports. Built from stainless steel and anodized aluminum, both models can be adapted to accommodate multiple product sizes.

A series of cartoners offers new features and options. With footprints as small as 40 x 38 in., they can be incorporated into any plant layout. The Carton King units can include Cognex or other 1- and 2-D bar code–reading systems. On-carton printing and label application can be combined with bar code verification for a complete medical qualification solution. Optional RFID tag insertion and verification are also offered. Off-the-shelf PLCs integrate via Ethernet with existing plant networks for complete data control. Blister stacking and destacking, leaflet insertion, and many other automated infeed systems can be integrated for a completely automated packaging solution.

Validatable Precision Heat Sealers Capture Seal Parameter Data

All-electric equipment for the heat sealing of pouches and films comes standard with digital controls with validation technology. High temperatures to seal fluoroethylene propylene are accomplished using CryoFlex heat-seal bands. Seal-parameter data capture is just one of the high-level features standard on this compact unit. The Model PW7016 16-in. Steri Sealer is a portable all-electric benchtop sealer that can handle the needs of clean-area sealing. Virtually silent operation and automatic jaw release ensure operator comfort and safety, and an optional knife cutting system is available. Measuring 16 × 19 in. and weighing 56 lb, the unit can be relocated and is operator friendly.

Unit Provides Thermal Print Pouches on Demand

An alternative to preprinted pouches, a near-edge printer provides on-demand product identification with text, graphics, and bar codes. The Thermal Printmaster is suitable for Tyvek and other flexible packaging materials. It can print at rates that range from 4 to 10 in./sec. The unit can direct-print to media that is 1.5 to 10 in. wide and provides a maximum 8.5-in.-wide print area. The device’s ribbon-saving technology results in ±10 mm of unused ribbon per impression. The tabletop printer features a rugged steel printing platform, high-resolution print capability, good copy registration, and a stepper-motor-driven infeed to ensure positive automatic feed of a range of varnished, polished, or porous flat products.
