DDL Inc. (Minneapolis) is keeping pace with the growth of the packagetesting market by expanding to Boston. The company's package engineer, Natalie Finazzo, leads the launch.
As the market becomes larger, innovative types of packaging, such as those that improve barrier strength and impact and moisture resistance, are emerging. This type of packaging requires integrity testing that gauges compliance with packaging standards.
With a presence on the East Coast, DDL will be able to serve another major device region. Its other facilities, in Minnesota and California, are also located in key device manufacturing areas.
Part of DDL's increasing involvement in the medical industry can be attributed to COO Patrick Nolan's role in updating the ISO 11607 standard, “Packaging for Terminally Sterilized Medical Devices.” After the revision, DDL created a Webinar series to help device manufacturers and packaging engineers with compliance issues related to the standard. Through the expansion, the company can deliver these services to even more customers.
