Portable Coordinate-Measuring Machine
Offered in either six- or seven-axis models, an 8-ft portable coordinate-measuring machine (CMM) provides accurate measurement to within 0.0007 in. Operators guide the Quantum FaroArm’s touch-probe along the surface of the object to be measured. The CMM’s laptop computer illustrates the 3-D measurement on-screen, records all of the data, and then creates a 3-D blueprint. Ceramic Injection Molding

Couplings

LED Panel-Mount Indicators
A series of snap-in light-emitting diode (LED)–based panel-mount indicators includes high-brightness versions suitable for viewing under daylight conditions. Also included in the 559 series are 5- and 12-V indicators with integral resistors; low-current, high-efficiency indicators; and two- and three-lead bicolor indicators. The indicators are shock and vibration resistant, use 90% less energy than incandescent units, generate no heat, and typically operate for 100,000 hours. The indicators come with straight terminals for wire wrapping or lead wires for soldering, and their black UL 94V-0–rated housings enhance illumination contrast. Polyurethane Foam
Reticulated polyurethane foam suited for use in medical devices performs such tasks as filtering, absorbing, wiping, and padding in applications that include nebulizers, ventilators, oxygen concentrators, and air compressors. The foam begins as a network of open cells of polyester or polyether that are encapsulated by a thin membrane of polyurethane. Lubricant Bearings
Employed in such medical applications as infusion pumps, a line of sealed lubricant bearings is available with inside diameters ranging from 1⁄8 to 1 in. Preinstalled oil-filled polymers lubricate the bearings with a film or oil. Because the oil-filled polymers contain approximately twice the amount of oil found in most greases, excess oil is available for lubrication, according to the company.
