Available alternatives range from quick visual identifiers, such as color coding, to radio-frequency identification (RFID) tags. The identifiers are designed for tubing and reinforced hose that is manufactured from platinum-cured silicone, and for rubber-covered or overbraided hoses of various materials. They can be used separately or in combination. Hose-identification options include labels and color stripes permanently vulcanized on the exterior of the tubing or hose; color tracer braid for reinforced silicone hose; solid coloring of silicone tubing; or colored exterior layers of multi-ply hose.
