Cutting Tool Inspection Unit Features Five-Megapixel Camera
Designed for inspecting bone drills, taps, and other cutting tools, a machine uses a five-megapixel camera that requires minimal lighting to reduce the occurrence of hot spots. The PG 1000 cutting tool inspection system features linear motion rolling guides on all axes and a microscope that provides magnifications ranging from 15 to 260×. Magnifications automatically synchronize to the user’s PC; the machine also automates screen calibration with electronic magnification change-stabilization functions. The system’s software allows for screen images to be captured and saved for documentation.Euro-Tech Corp.

Moisture and Solids Analyzer Features Syringe Test Mode
A moisture and solids analyzer features a syringe test mode that is designed to eliminate solvent evaporation and accurately capture the start weight. Handling sample sizes ranging from 150 mg to 40 g, the Computrac MAX 4000XL offers faster throughput, better control of testing conditions, and more-comprehensive test data than its predecessor, Model 2000XL, according to the supplier. Faster throughput is facilitated by a forced air-cooling system that cools the instrument from test temperature to idle temperature 25% faster than previous models. A temperature ramp rate control enables the user to adjust the rate at which the instrument heats from idle to test temperature. The unit also features a full-color screen that displays separate graphs representing the rate-of-moisture evolution and total moisture evolution. Test parameters can be uploaded via a local intranet, and test results can be stored on the machine, downloaded using the unit’s Web server feature, or saved to an external flash memory device.Arizona Instrument
Machine Tests Catheters and Guidewires for Electrical Integrity
A fully automated machine tests braided catheters and guidewires for electrical integrity and faulty insulation. The Accu-Test machine combines a high-voltage catheter tester with a center pick feeder and easy-access output sorting bins. Designed to replace slow or difficult manual inspection techniques, the repeatable electronic test system can be used as a stand-alone unit or as part of a production line. It automatically feeds materials into the high-voltage tester and then sorts the good and bad parts, ensuring that validated parts are not mixed with faulty ones. Operating at speeds ranging from 500 to 800 parts per hour, the system can detect exposed wire caused by missing, voided, or damaged insulation on catheters.ASG Medical Systems

Combination Flow and Leak Tester Has Built-In Controls
Featuring combined flow and leak testing capabilities, a machine uses built-in controls to eliminate the need for a more expensive PLC. The two-station M-1075 mass-flow leak detector enables operators to test parts at a rate of 180 parts per hour. Machine control functions are incorporated directly into the leak-test instrument. Control functions include spin and insertion motions for leak tests and stopcock actuation, including insufflate and desufflate flows. The machine first pressurizes a part in eight inches of water to test leak rates, including testing to an acceptable limit of 80 cm3
/min for a cannula and 40 cm3
/min for a gimbal seal. The pressurized part is then flow tested with settings in the insufflate position to verify that the flow is greater than 3.5 L/min. Desufflate settings are then tested to measure that the flow is greater than 5 L/min. If the part fails any one of these four tests, it is rejected.InterTech Development Co.
