Redesigned Web Site Features Product Generator

MTS Systems, Sensors Division (Cary, NC), a maker of magnetostrictive linear-position and liquid-level sensors, has launched a redesigned Web site that includes a product generator. The new tool is powered by 3-D partstream.net from SolidWorks and enables customers to access an interactive online 3-D part catalog. Customers can build a product with the product generator, then view it, and then download 2-D or 3-D computer-aided design (CAD) drawings of the product in virtually any format currently used by CAD systems. The product generator also provides a part number and allows the customer to request a quote with one button click. The first products available for the generator are the Temposonics Model R-series linear-position sensors; remaining products will be added throughout the next few months. The first phase of the launch includes North America, South America, Europe (available in German and English), and Asia (Japanese) regional sites. In addition, the company says that Italian, Spanish, and Chinese language translations will follow in the coming months.
