Electromedical Safety Tester

A multipurpose electromedical safety tester has been upgraded to include new features and increase test routine efficiency. The 277 Plus tester from Rigel Medical (Peterlee, Durham, UK; www.rigelmedical.com) can be used for the safety testing of all electrical laboratory equipment. Additional test functions include touch leakage, voltage measurement, and a dedicated IEC 61010 measuring device. Manual, automatic, and semiautomatic test routines can be conducted, allowing full control of power up and power down delay times. The unit features a full graphics display, large internal memory, and integral qwerty keyboard.

Dispensing Diaphragm Valve

A lightweight valve is designed to dispense low- to medium-viscosity fluids. The DV509 diaphragm valve from I&J Fisnar Inc. (Fair Lawn, NJ; www.ijfisnar.com) keeps wet parts separated from the operating air supply. Substances such as cyanoacrylates, reagents, UV adhesives can be dispensed using the valve. The 3-oz valve is capable of 200 c/min. Valves with stainless-steel and UHMW bodies are also available.

Precision Custom and Standard Parts

A company offers specialty manufacturing of stamping, machining, and assembly of interconnect components and hardware. Keystone Electronics Corp. (Astoria, NY; www.keyelco.com) has dedicated application and engineering services to meet special and modification product requirements. Availability includes metallic and nonmetallic materials, short- and long-run quantities, as well as close-tolerance, on-time production for a variety of industrial needs. Experienced tool and die makers at the firm specialize in developing progressive dyes, four slides, wire forming, in-dye tapping, and high-speed blanking. Tapping and assembly finishing services are also provided.

Submersible Transducer Vent Filter

004.jpg

A new vent filter provides moisture protection for all vented gauged format submersible KPSI transducers. The Series 810 SuperDry vent filter from Pressure Systems Inc. (Hampton, VA; www.pressuresystems.com) is designed specifically for high humidity environments where water vapor may condense in the vent tube. The filter protects sensitive transducer electronic components from mildew, corrosion, rust, and other forms of deterioration, while simultaneously preventing the formation of a liquid column. An indicating dessicant in the filter turns from blue to pink as its drying capacity is diminished when exposed to moisture, indicating the need for maintenance. All vented gauge submersible KPSI transducers ordered from the company will be equipped with the filter.

dc/dc Converters

A family of rugged, low-cost dc/dc converters has been introduced. The JTA series of wide-input, 10-, 15-, and 20-W converters from XpiQ (Holliston, MA; www.xpiq.com) are a redesign of industry-standard models. The converters feature an extended operating temperature range of –40° to 100° C with full load available at up to 70° C. Ultrawide input voltages of 9–36 V dc or 18–75 V dc, and single or dual outputs in the 3.3 V dc to 15 V dc range are available. The 15- and 20-W converters include remote on-off and a 10% voltage trim facility. All units have integral over-voltage and over-current protection. The converters have 1500 V dc input-to-output isolation with an isolation resistance of 1000 MΩ.
