With its new facility in Marlborough, MA, Creganna hopes to be able to better serve its U.S.–based clients.

Creganna (Galway, Ireland) has opened a facility in Marlborough, MA. Creganna supplies components, subassemblies, and design services in a range of metals, polymers and composite materials for catheter shafts. The company's new building in Massachusetts houses several phases of development, and is designed to be a hub for U.S.–based customers. It also gives the company access to an industry-experienced skill base.

The phase I facility houses production capabilities for extruded and braided tubing as well as a contract design service team for minimally invasive delivery systems on an outsourced basis.

An experienced team has been recruited to manage the Massachusetts site. Leading the Marlborough extrusion team is George Michaels, an extrusion expert. “We hope to be an invaluable resource to customers when they are making design and material selection choices,” he says.

A team from Creganna's contract design service also operates from the new facility. Services range from initial concept development to manufacturing for commercialization, enabling medical device manufacturers to accelerate product development timelines. “During the past year, we have witnessed solid growth in demand from medical device manufacturers,” says contract design service manager Liam Farrissey, PhD. “Establishing a design center in the United States enhances our capacity to provide a local service.”

Creganna has sales and manufacturing facilities in Ireland and Finland. It also has facilities in California and Minnesota.
