Bayer, Cambridge Work on Immunoassays
Cambridge Consultants Inc. (Boston) has assisted the diagnostics division of Bayer Healthcare (Tarrytown, NY) in creating a point-of-care analyzer that can withstand daily use. The analyzer has the ability to read urine strips and immunoassay cassettes. Cambridge designed it to have a more-robust motorized drawer system that uses different kinds of reagents and can be operated by multiple users. Bayer said the company's motion control technology was innovative and worked well within the existing investments in production processes. It also noted Cambridge's had fast turnaround.
