The Eastern Technology Council, an organization for technology and life sciences leaders and companies in the Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware region, has named B. Braun Medical Inc. (Bethlehem, PA; www.bbraunusa. com) as its "Company of the Year" for 2002. Sponsored by Verizon, the annual award recognizes the area-based company with revenues greater than $50 million that best demonstrates leadership and innovation in its industry or market, commitment to the community, revenue growth, and profit.

"The credit for this honor goes to the over 4500 U.S. employees and the 28,000 worldwide who support B. Braun," says Caroll Neubauer, chairman and CEO of B. Braun Medical Inc. "Their dedication to the company mission of improving patient and healthcare-worker safety through innovation made this award possible. Recognition like this will help us spotlight the immense need to improve all aspects of safety in the clinical environment, from the prevention of accidental needlesticks to the elimination of medication errors and the elimination of dangerous substances like DEHP from medical devices."

B. Braun is a full-line supplier of healthcare products and programs design to improve both patient and clinician safety.
