(Hutchinson, MN), the InSpectra StO2 tissue oxygenation monitor is the first device to noninvasively measure and continuously monitor tissue oxygenation during resuscitation. Previous technologies required a catheter inserted into the heart to get similar readings. The Inspectra uses light, which is painless, accurate, and provides readings within 20 seconds. The FDA-approved product is lightweight, portable—featuring an onboard battery—and rugged enough to survive spills, kicks, or a free fall onto a concrete floor. All these factors are must-have attributes for a product that functions in emergency room conditions. Designed for use in multiple configurations, it can sit on a table or bed, or it can be attached to an IV pole. Healthcare professionals can read the product's easy-to-use and intuitive high-resolution display from 20 ft away.
