Rodless band cylinders have been reengineered to offer durable bearings; strong, stainless-steel bands; and a load-bearing design that isolates the piston from the applied load.


Pneumatic rodless band cylinders are offered for lean manufacturing efficiencies. All models and sizes are built to order and shipped in 5 days or less. The MX series features three bearing options: The profiled rail design uses the company’s Caged Ball technology to reduce friction and extend actuator life, the solid bearing design reduces stress concentration by 59%, and the internal bearing design is permanently lubricated for long service and is especially suitable for vertical applications.

The stainless-steel bands will not expand and are stronger than elastomer bands, according to the company. Thus, they will provide reliable sealing over the life of the actuator. They also withstand the effects of pressure spikes that are created during high-velocity cushion impact.

The cylinders have a load-bearing design that isolates the piston from the applied load, and it remains isolated even when the carrier is subjected to deflection. This extends the service life of the piston seals. Both the piston bracket and the carrier feature single-piece extrusion, reducing failure points.

Other features include durable, custom-formulated polyurethane seals; clear anodized aluminum extrusions; adjustable cushions; mounted shocks; double- or single-end porting; drop-in and easy-to-locate switches; and tube clamps.

The MX series includes both inch and metric versions to meet a variety of OEM specifications.
