Medisize Corp. (Vantaa, Finland) has expanded its partnership with Sanofi-aventis (Bridgewater, NJ) by adding more capacity to its plant in Kontiolahti, Finland. The companies have worked together on Sanofi-aventis's insulin injection pens for diabetes patients. Medisize has been involved with the components production line for the pen and works with Sanofi-aventis on manufacturing, tooling design, molding, and automatic assembly.

According to Medisize CEO William van den Bruinhorst, the facility expansion will contribute to the fast-paced growth of Sanofi-aventis's diabetes treatment business. “The order for new production equipment…confirms that our in-house tooling and automation expertise, combined with excellent project management and experience, are appreciated by our key customers,” Bruinhorst says. “We will continue to develop our competencies to offer our customers an even quicker service for their drug-delivery device projects.”
