National Manufacturing Week

Welcome to MPMN ’s first special issue previewing the National Manufacturing Week (NMW) trade event.

In order to provide you with a guide for attending the show, we’ve included several articles and an exhibitor listing in the following pages. We’ve also profiled several companies exhibiting at the show. Plus, a feature-length article describes how to better manage the quality of your suppliers’ products and services. And, a selection of the products and services offered at NMW runs throughout the magazine.

NMW encompasses four collocated trade shows. They are Assembly Technology Expo, Electronics Assembly, PLASTEC Midwest, and Quality Expo. Exhibitors specializing in such fields as automation technology, rapid prototyping, production machinery, motors, and electronics, will be at the show.

Conference sessions begin on September 24 and the exhibition will take place September 25–27, 2007. The event will be held at the Donald E. Stephens Convention & Exhibition Center in Rosemont, IL.

The trade show caters to manufacturing across a variety of industries. However, the medical device industry will have a significant presence at NMW. A number of companies regularly featured in MPMN will be either exhibiting or attending the show. Of special interest to MPMN readers are five new areas to NMW. We are sponsoring the Medical Precision Technology, the Medical Device Outsourcing, the Medical Device QA/QC, the Medical Device Assembly/Automation, and the Medical Electronics pavilions. If you’re at the show, make plans to stop by and check out these suppliers.

In the meantime, we hope this guide will help you in planning your time at NMW.
