Da/Pro Rubber Increases Molding Services

Da/Pro Rubber Inc. (Tulsa, OK) opened a facility in Massachusetts to increase plastic and thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) molding services. “Da/Pro's emphasis has been on precision and close tolerance parts,” says Holly Dorland, sales manager at Da/Pro Rubber. Dorland adds that the plant's capabilities will allow the company to offer the same quality for molding processes as it currently provides for its rubber services.

“Previously, we would manufacture the rubber component, and it would be assembled into the final product,” says Dorland. “Offering plastic and TPE molding allows us the ability to incorporate the plastic/TPE needs of the final product as well.”

The new facility has 12 injection molding machines, which can mold commodity, thermoplastics, and TPE. It can perform insert molding, overmolding, and cable connector overmolding. It's also equipped with tool design, special packaging, quality control, hot stamping, decorating, subassembly services, and fused disposition modeling (FDM) prototyping.

“FDM prototyping is a fast way to see the part as a prototype without the expense of building a prototype mold,” says Dorland. This service gives its clients a three-dimensional model of a new design without having to go through the molding process.

Da/Pro has manufactured custom molded rubber parts for more than 45 years. It has locations in California, Oklahoma, Singapore, and Malaysia. Custom molding services include design assistance, compound development, lab testing, mold construction, and quality assurance.
