Ultrasonic Welding System Provides Greater Repeatability and Stronger Welds

A servo-controlled ultrasonic welding system is available as an alternative to standard pneumatic systems for use in medical applications. The system relies on technology that precisely controls collapse-speed profile during the melt phase of the weld. This is designed to provide greater repeatability, stronger welds, easier validation calibration, and lower manufacturing cost than less-precise pneumatic systems. The digital power supply has a data processing rate of 0.5 milliseconds. The press is available in 20-, 30-, and 40-kHz and is FDA compliant. There are no operator-accessible settings and all mechanical adjustments require a tool.
