Sensors Company Acquires Fluidic Systems Provider

Corinne Litchfield

A sensors manufacturer has acquired a fluidic systems company. Gems Sensors (Plainville, CT; www.gemssensors.com) has announced the purchase of Precision Dynamics Inc. (PreDyne; New Britain, CT), a maker of custom miniature solenoid valves, manifold assemblies, and fluidic systems. The company will now be known as Gems Sensors & Controls. PreDyne valves and manifold assemblies will continue to be manufactured at its New Britain facility. Its sales and engineering staff will join Gems Sensors & Controls to support the product line.

“More and more, our OEM customers and the marketplace are asking for custom solutions that integrate sensors and other components of a fluidic system, such as valves and manifold assemblies,” says Evan Berns, vice president of Gems Sensors & Controls. “The combination of Gems and PreDyne allows us to fulfill our customers’ needs with complete preassembled and tested fluidic systems, designed specifically to their application requirements.”
