Physik Instrumente Improves Services at Headquarters
Physik Instrumente (PI; Auburn, MA) has ramped up its design and manufacturing capabilities at its U.S. headquarters. The company provides nanopositioning and precision motion control equipment for the medical device industry. PI has started building an engineering team at its facility, which is equipped with CAD and finite-element analysis tools to reduce development time. The team has designed several piezoelectric nanopositioning products.

The company says that it expanded its capabilities to take advantage of the relatively low manufacturing costs in the United States compared with the European Union. PI also wants to make the company more competitive in the North American market.
