Silicon Valley is home to the fourth-largest concentration of biomedical engineering jobs in the United States, and the upcoming BIOMEDevice San Jose conference and expo will bring even more medtech professionals to this exciting innovation hub for two days of networking and education.
If you’re heading to the San Jose Convention Center December 2–3, 2015, here are a few opportunities you’ll definitely want to take advantage of.
Conference Sessions
The BIOMEDevice San Jose conference will bring together industry luminaries to share their knowledge on topics ranging from wireless medical devices and design to wearables, and entrepreneurship. Healthcare futurist and author Joe Flower will kick things off with a keynote address on how the healthcare crisis is triggering the opportunity to move beyond niche device problem solving. Attendees can also attend sessions on topics like designing smartphones and tablets into medical devices, the convergence of technology and fashion, and reimbursement strategies.
Free Education
Even if you’re not attending the conference, you can still take advantage of educational opportunities on the BIOMEDevice San Jose expo floor. Fee Center Stage presentations include a Genius Bar where you can have experts answer your questions about wearable devices, a talk on 3-D printing for medical applications, and the story of a 3-D printed leg cast with Internet of things (IoT) capabilities. You can also take in technology and product briefs from exhibitors in the know at the free Tech Theater.
New Technologies
On the BIOMEDevice San Jose show floor, you can brows the more than 300 exhibitor booths, meeting face-to-face with suppliers and service providers who specialize in medtech. This year’s expo floor will also feature an innovation zone, where you can check out the latest medical devices to hit the market and even some still in development. You’ll see an IoT cast, a smartphone-connected fertility device, a wearable device that allows for noninvasive monitoring and analysis of blood composition, and more.
Peer Networking
Perhaps the most valuable opportunity at BIOMEDevice San Jose will be the chance to network with your medtech industry peers. To make the most of your time, sign up for a speed networking session, in which you’ll be paired with like-minded professionals for 10-minute mini-meetings. For a more casual environment, join the booth crawl at the end of the first day to browse the exhibitor booths and mingle with your peers while enjoying a drink.
See you in San Jose!
