Ruby Gadelrab is the CEO and founder of M Disrupt, a company that has positioned itself as the bridge between technology and healthcare to help the most impactful digital health products make it to market quickly.

MDisrupt has helped launch and scale many leading digital health companies and solutions since its launch in 2019 by connecting them to health industry experts. Building on this success and to meet the continued innovation in digital health, MDisrupt is transforming into a digital health intelligence company that organizes the world’s digital health products by performance, so everyone can make data-driven healthcare decisions.

But behind the company’s success is the people – and part of Gadelrab’s mission is to create a company that’s inclusive and open.

“The first 10 years of my career in the U.K., I never saw anyone that looked like me in leadership positions, in scientific and academic positions, and in tradeshows,” Gadelrab during an interview for the Let’s Talk Medtech podcast.

Gadelrab also noted there was small number of women and minorities in medtech that were receiving venture capital dollars to push innovation forward.

“Women make 51% of the population and make 80 % of the healthcare decisions and guess how much funding they got last year … 2%,” Gadelrab said. “Black founders got 1.4% and got 0.27% of all venture dollars. To me that is outrageous. “We are not representing the talent of the industry. We’re not representing diversity at any level, so what I want to see is that we stop having conversations and start taking action.”
