Programmable Linear Actuator Can Simultaneously Lift and Rotate

A programmable linear actuator combines mechanical drive, guidance, and control in a single component. The Programmable Motorized SpineRail linear actuator uses a size-17 single- or double-stack stepper motor with an integrated Haydon IDEA drive. A custom-designed GUI allows for programming through the use of on-screen buttons, and allows the program to be tested using a line-by-line execution feature. When mounted vertically, the actuator can simultaneously lift and rotate.

Programmable Linear Actuator Can Simultaneously Lift and Rotate

A programmable linear actuator combines mechanical drive, guidance, and control in a single component. The programmable motorized SplineRail linear actuator uses a size-17 single- or double-stack stepper motor with an integrated Haydon IDEA drive. A custom-designed GUI allows for programming through the use of on-screen buttons, and allows the program to be tested using a line-by-line execution feature. When mounted vertically, the actuator can simultaneously lift and rotate. With one motor driving the screw and a second rotating the rail, a compact, self-supporting pick-and-place mechanism can be created. Screw leads are available from 0.05 to 1.2 in. per revolution. Self-locking threads can support a load without external power.
