The company offers custom-enginneered medical balloons and balloon catheters for a variety of peripheral, coronary, and neurovascular applications.

In the following Q&A, McCormack shares his thoughts on how the medtech industry is evolving and what he's most excited about technologically.

Qmed: How do you see the demands of medical device manufacturers changing in 2015?

McCormack: We've watched the medical device world go through a tremendous amount of change. Consolidation. Reduction in the R&D staff and investment. Elimination of many in-house production environments. As a result, Teleflex Medical OEM transformed itself from being an "outsider" used for contract manufacturing into an integral part of customers' R&D and engineering teams for device development and production. Qmed: What are you most excited about technologically?

McCormack: Clinical procedures requiring the delivery of stents and transcatheter heart valves are on the rise across the world. Teleflex Medical OEM, with its history of extrusion and catheter-based delivery systems, can develop and produce interventional catheters required to deploy a stent, heart valve, therapy, or medication.
