GUIDE TO OUTSOURCING: OUTSOURCING NEWS

KMC Systems designs, manufactures, and provides field service to complex medical systems.

To centralize outsourcing services for OEMs, KMC Systems (Merrimack, NH), the medical division of Elbit Systems of America (Fort Worth, TX), has introduced KMC 360. The program is designed to guide manufacturers through the entire medical device and instrumentation product life cycle.

“Relying on multiple partners throughout a product's life cycle can result in market launch delays, increased costs, and inefficiencies,” said Patrick W. McNallen, president of KMC Systems, in a company press release.
KMC 360 prevents such problems, the company says, by enabling OEMs to work with a single contract service provider that can offer design, manufacturing, and maintenance support. According to KMC, the system is based on continual communication and cross-functional collaboration.
Although intended to cover the entire product life cycle, companies can use KMC 360 at any stage of development. It is suitable for in vitro diagnostic, surgical, therapeutic, and lab automation applications.
KMC Systems is an ISO 13485–certified and FDA-registered firm. Through partnerships with medical companies, it has developed electronic and electromechanical systems for diverse medical applications. Copyright ©2009 Medical Device & Diagnostic Industry
