Norgren Introduces Inline Pump With Replaceable Syringe

A company that provides pneumatic motion and fluid control technologies to the medical industry has introduced an inline pump for microfluidic handling that features a cartridge syringe that can be replaced on-site in just seconds with no tools required. Now users of clinical chemistry equipment can replace the syringes themselves without taking the pump out of service and returning it to the factory. The cocompact size allows OEMs to design equipment with their own drives and still have a mechanically robust pump. The Kloehn IP 1000 is a zero dead volume pump that evacuates completely, leaving no air bubbles to interfere with measurements or reduce accuracy. The replaceable syringe automatically reinitializes to zero. Also, because the syringe is encapsulated in the cartridge, any leaks that might occur due to wear are directed away from the motor, protecting the pump from damage.
