In order to supply medical device manufacturers with larger parts, Vaupell Northeast Molding and Tooling (Agawam, MA; www.vaupell.com) has added a Cincinnati Milacron horizontal injection molding machine to its facility. The 440-tn machine can hold a mold as big as 29 × 29 × 28 in./10 with a maximum shot size of 56 oz.... Moog Components Group (Blacksburg, VA; www.moog.com) has formed an exclusive partnership with Samplify Systems Inc. (Santa Clara, CA; www.samplify.com) to bring a signal-compression technology to the computed tomography (CT) market. The result will allow CT OEMs to compress data while maintaining image quality....To accommodate customer demand for silicone medical device components, Specialty Silicone Fabricators (Paso Robles, CA; www.ssfab.com) has announced plans to begin construction on a 100,000-sq-ft cleanroom manufacturing and office building to be completed next Fall.... Inteprod LLC (Eagleville, PA; www.inteprod.com), a medical device contract manufacturer; Eptam Plastics (Northfield, NH; www.eptam.com), which specializes in precision-machined plastic components; and Birk Manufacturing (East Lyme, CT; www.birkmfg.com), a provider of flexible heating elements and thermal systems have all obtained ISO 13485 certification.... MedPlast (www.medplastgroup.com) recently completed an expansion of its 50,000-sq-ft Tempe, AZ, facility. The upgraded plant now includes two Class 100,000 cleanrooms that house injection molding and automated assembly operations.
