Bioresorbable stent company Arterial Remodeling Technologies (ART; Paris) has appointed Machiel Van Der Leest as its new CEO. Van Der Leest has served as ART's chief operating officer since March 2008. Prior to joining ART, he was director of R&D and regulatory affairs at Minvasys. "The timing of Machiel's appointment as CEO signals a major turning point in the evolution of ART, from an R&D mind-set to a product-development mandate," said ART chairman Eric Viaud.


Vapotherm (Stevensville, MD), a privately held manufacturer of respiratory care devices for the hospital and home-care markets, has announced the appointment of in­dustry veteran Nick Macmillan as manager of its home-care segment. Macmillan will be responsible for developing and managing the company's expansion of respiratory therapy products that address chronic and sleep disorders. Vapotherm is focused on the development of noninvasive technologies for respiratory therapy, especially for the treatment of chronic lung and acute breathing disorders.



MedPro Safety Products Inc. (Lexington, KY), a developer and marketer of medical safety devices incorporating proprietary needlestick prevention technology, has ap­pointed two new members to its board of directors: Leo Kiely, CEO of MillerCoors; and Ernest L. Fletcher, MD, former governor of Kentucky. "We are fortunate to have such talented and experienced individuals joining our board," said MedPro CEO Craig Turner. "Both Mr. Kiely and Governor Fletcher have extensive expertise in their re­spective fields and will play an integral role in the continued growth of our company."
