B9Creations demonstrated its new medical 3D printer, the Core 5 Series Med XL - 385, at MD&M Minneapolis. The system is suitable for the design and production of medical devices, anatomical modeling, surgical tools, and more. The company is also releasing a translucent companion resin, called HD Clear, for high-precision parts that require translucency. With polishing or coating, 3D printed parts can be made fully transparent and appear glass-like, the company shared in a news release.
The system is the company’s largest-format 3D printer, and it offers <25 micron effective resolution, IEC 60601-1 and IEC 60601-1-2 medical equipment compliance, CE certification through third-party testing, and a 385 nanometer light engine that enables customers to accurately 3D print translucent, white, and specialty materials.
The 3D printers are ready to operate in 15 minutes and never require calibration, the company stated.
