Philips Announces New eICU Healthcare-Management Platform

Royal Philips Healthcare, a medical device manufacturer based in Andover, Massachusetts, announced the launch of its new health care management platform. According to a press release by the company, the device can be used by physicians to turn complex healthcare data into clear, actionable information. In its press release, the company detailed how the IntelliSpace eCareManager 3.9 healthcare platform worked. The new platform's flagship feature is a specialized graphical dashboard that utilizes over 100 clinical rules to process, analyze and visualize complex clinical information. This can provide physicians a better idea about what is happening with a certain patient. As of new, approximately 7,000 ICU beds are equipped with Philips' eICU technology. On average, facilities with the eICU system monitor 150 patients simultaneously. However, some sites care for up to 400 patients under the eICU system. With the ORB eICU, it's possible to integrate practical, actionable data with visual information that can help physicians prioritize the needs of patients. The platform's dashboard includes easy-to-understand circles that can provide instant information about patients. The system can help physicians differentiate between patients who are in need of critical care and those who are healthy.Lori Lazzara is the general manager and vice president of the Connected Care Solutions division at Philips. In prepared remarks, she said, "Philips eICU Program customers monitor more than 350,000 ICU patients every year and orb demonstrates our commitment to connected care, giving clinicians the flexibility to manage a large population of patients without losing the individualized treatment needs of each person."Referenceswww.mhimss.org/press-release/philips-introduces-breakthrough-graphical-dashboard-advance-its-eicu-telehealth
