St. Jude Makes the Fortune 500 List

For the first time, St. Jude Medical has landed on the Fortune 500 list, a ranking of all U.S. companies by revenue. Ranked at 445, St. Jude reported revenue of $4.7 billion in 2009—a 7.3% change from 2008. According to MarketWatch, St. Jude's five-year compounded growth rate from 2004 to 2009 was 15.5%.

Other medical device companies on the list include Johnson & Johnson (33), Medtronic (160), Baxter International (185), Boston Scientific (279), Becton Dickinson (312), and Stryker (333). Despite describing 2009 as a tough year, Johnson & Johnson made $12.3 billion in profit, making it the tenth most profitable company on the list of 500.
