Endicott Interconnect Technologies Inc. (Endicott, NY) has acquired the assets of eV Products Inc. (Saxonburg, PA), a business of II-VI Inc. eV develops and manufactures solid-state room-temperature x-ray detectors and gamma-ray detectors for the medical and other industries. The acquisition includes eV's R&D, sales, and manufacturing operations, as well as its intellectual property. The company's 65 employees will remain with the firm. The assets will become part of Endicott's microelectronics division.


James J. McNamara, president and CEO of Endicott, said that the technology will be integrated into Endicott's portfolio to extend its electronics packaging strategy of delivering customized products to clients in the medical markets. The business will be named eV Microelectronics. It will continue to operate its own sales, manufacturing, and research functions. It will also remain in the Saxonburg facility.
