Ampac Flexibles has installed a slitter rewinder in its plant to benefit rollstock customers.

Ampac Flexibles (Cincinnati, OH) has installed a slitter rewinder in its Minneapolis facility that will enable the flexible packaging provider to increase slitting speeds and produce larger roll sizes for rollstock customers. The addition of the Titan SR8 machine, manufactured by Bobst Group North America (Charlotte, NC), equips the company to better serve its customers through upgraded slitting capabilities and enhanced product flexibility, according to Joe Buchanan, general manager, Ampac Flexibles Global Pouching, Minneapolis.Able to operate at speeds up to 700 m/min, the slitter rewinder features a semiautomatic unloading system, laser core positioning, and quick changeover. The Titan also has a modular format designed to accommodate future enhancements and alterations necessitated by changing production requirements.“The new Titan slitter allows us to continue building on our growth strategy of addressing customer needs and requirements by making strategic investments in our production facilities,” says Sal Pellingra, innovation and marketing director of Ampac Flexibles. “The improved output and efficiency also creates less waste and uses fewer resources, meeting our goals to continually reduce the impact on the local environments where we manufacture.”
