G Medical Adds New Patent to Portfolio
The patent covers the company’s vital signs monitoring system that it’s developing.
G Medical Innovations Holdings, a healthcare company developing next generation mHealth and telemedicine solutions and monitoring service platforms, is adding a new patent to its portfolio with its announcement of a patent issue notification from the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
The patent, which is expected to be issued on Feb. 7, 2023, under USPTO’s Method and System for Vital Signs Monitoring with Earpiece section, covers the vital signs monitoring system the company is developing using multiple sensing mechanisms to be used on different body locations. The monitoring system, according to G Medical, could potentially provide physicians more versatility in patient monitoring, simplifying in- and out-patient monitoring.
The company’s product line consists of its Prizma medical device — a clinical-grade device that can transform almost any smartphone into a medical monitoring device; and its Extended Holter and Monitoring Cardiac Telemetry Patch services — multi-channel patient-worn biosensors, enabling real-time analysis and transmission that captures electrocardiography data continuously, including QT Syndrome Prolongation Detection. In development is the Wireless Vital Signs Monitoring System, which is expected to provide full, continuous, and real-time monitoring of a wide range of vital signs and biometrics. As part of its monitoring service, it includes provision of Independent Diagnostic Testing Facility monitoring services and private monitoring services.
Over the company’s product portfolio, it has been granted six patents — four in the US and two in China. Two of the patents were received only last month, in December 2022. Currently, G Medical has three more patents pending approval from the USPTO.
