Copolyester is Heat-Resistant

A company has developed a copolyester for renal medical device housings. The family of Tritan copolyesters for renal applications are heat resistant, tough, and sterilization stable. The material renders devices suitable for gamma, e-beam radiation, and ethylene oxide sterilization. Poststerilization optical clarity allows air bubbles, blood leakage, and blood clotting to be detected easily and quickly by technicians. Housings molded from Tritan can withstand exposure to blood, lipids, and chemical agents, including isopropyl alcohol, disinfectants, and bonding solvents.
