While PowerPoint slides can improve audience comprehension, there is a right way and a wrong way to present them. No one enjoys hearing the speaker read each slide. And moving from slide to slide too quickly is disconcerting to an interested audience.

A speaker should pause long enough between slides for people to digest what they see on the screen. Otherwise, listeners may miss information or misinterpret what they saw. Since a presentation containing too many slides can be confusing, speakers should weigh the importance of every slide they have, and consider not showing those that don't measure up.
