EndoStim Inc., based in St. Louis, MO, and The Hague, The Netherlands, has developed a laparoscopically implanted stimulation system that delivers electrical impulses to treat gastroesophageal reflux disease. In May, the company secured $25 million in venture funding that will help it conduct a pivotal U.S. clinical trial.
