TÜV Rheinland's New York office houses anechoic chambers used for radiated immunity testing of medical devices.

Testing and certification service provider TÜV Rheinland (Newtown, CT) has established a new testing facility with an EMC testing lab in Rochester, NY. The company cited a growing need for additional testing locations in the northeast region. TÜV Rheinland will serve medical manufacturers in western and northern New York, the Ohio Valley, and western Pennsylvania from the Rochester facility.

On the heels of opening a new testing facility, TÜV Rheinland also announced that it has become the primary supplier of third-party testing and certification services for Eastman Kodak Co. (Rochester, NY). Eastman Kodak manufactures image sensors that are used in digital radiography, fluoroscopy, cardiology, mammography, dental imaging, and endoscopy.

“We are excited by this new business venture and anticipate tremendous growth at our new Rochester location,” said TÜV Rheinland northeast regional manager Rick Patterson. “We look forward to further enriching our relationship with Kodak and helping its business units—and other manufacturers—gain global market access for their products.” TÜV Rheinland's North American division operates 17 offices in the United States.
