The clinicians and researchers at the Cleveland Clinic are calling it--these will be the most important breakthroughs to impact 2017.

Every year, the experts at the Cleveland Clinic choose just ten medical innovations from a large pool of cutting-edge technology to spotlight as the most impactful and impressive for the coming year.

Their insightful forecasts have a lot of sway because the choices are often very accurate. Wireless pacemakers, breast tomosynthesis, medical apps for mobile devices, and active bionic prostheses were all on prior years' lists.

Last year's list included innovations like gene editing with CRISPR, frictionless remote monitoring, and neurovascular stent retrievers.
