On October 1, the Affordable Care Act will see the introduction of state-level health insurance exchanges. In an effort to prevent their introduction, Ted Cruz (R-TX) launched a 21 hour oral argument against Obamacare. In his stand, he talked about Star Wars, the children's books "Green Eggs and Ham" and "The Little Engine That Could." Less than 30 minutes into his speech, he began to compare his critics to Nazis. Earlier this morning, Cruz ended the marathon plea. While he hoped to block government funding for healthcare reform, the United States Senate voted 100-0 on Wednesday to clear a procedural hurdle that had stymied the passage of a stopgap funding bill that would help avert a government shutdown in the next week.Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) is expected to remove provisions from the stopgap spending bill that would defund the Affordable Care Act. Once the stopgap spending bill is passed, the United States government will remain funded through the 15th of November.With high levels of support for the procedural vote, it's unlikely that Congress would defund the Affordable Care Act. That being said, Cruz's long speech landed him praise from GOP colleagues and others who are against the ACA."Americans owe Sen.
