As Jennifer Fried puts it on the latest episode of Let's Talk Medtech, the digital revelution seen across nearly every industry has been a bright spot in an otherwise dark year. Fried is CEO of ExplORer Surgical, developer of a technology that has gone from "nice to have" to "must have" during the COVID-19 pandemic. The platform leverages augmented reality to put medical device reps in the operating room for virtual support during surgical cases.

ExplORer Surgical’s HIPAA compliant, two-way video for case support and remote proctoring works alongside the platform’s digitized procedural workflow application. This digital workflow creates a playbook of best practices specific to the procedure and each member of the surgical team, making critical information accessible throughout the procedure. The company also has plans for an advanced analytics release, which leverages both the video and the digital playbook to apply artificial intelligence to its dataset.
