There is a lot of uncertainty in healthcare today, especially in the United States where federal lawmakers are in the process of repealing and replacing the Affordable Care Act otherwise known as Obamacare. But the shift toward value-based care does appear to be here to stay and that means digitalization will continue to play an increasingly prominent role in that transformation.

Siemens Healthineers has been one of the leaders of the digital healthcare pack and this week at the Health Information and Management Systems Society's (HIMSS) annual meeting the company said it is establishing a global digital ecosystem aimed at driving digitalization of healthcare. The platform is meant to link healthcare providers and solution providers with one another, as well as bring together their data, applications, and services.

The company said several partners are already on board with the new digital platform, including Arterys, Dell EMC, SecondOpinions.com, Stroll Health, SyntheticMR, 3D Slcier, TMC, USARAD, and Viewics. The Siemens Healthineers Digital Ecosystem is also open for additional partners, the company said.
