Feds Raid The Scooter Store

The Scooter Store, the nation's largest power wheelchair company became a target of the FBI last week. Government auditors found that The Scooter Store overbilled Medicar to the tune of $108 million from 2009-2012. The company has been accused of putting profits over patient care, aggressively pursuing doctors into prescribing power wheelchairs, even when patients do not need them. The company even has a department devoted to finding ways and means for patients who were ruled ineligible by Medicare to get power chairs. Full details of the FBI search warrant are under seal.
