Much of the medical device innovation we hear about comes from well-known companies within the United States. But this U.S-centric view is shifting, as many domestic medtech companies have begun to look to international talent for acquisitions and to emerging markets for revenue growth. 

We looked well beyond the U.S. border to find companies working on cutting-edge medical discoveries. It didn't take long to find a number of original inventions. After all, even the winner of this year's MDEA "Best-in-Show" award was an international company, from Norway.
