Fluid Metering Inc. has developed a low-volume valveless metering pump for precision dispensing of air sensitive, crystal forming fluids. The company’s miniature H series pump heads are now available with an isolation gland to provide a fluid barrier between the pumped process fluid and atmosphere. These pumps are suited for maintenance-free dispensing of saline based reagents, buffers and wash fluids, slurries, abrasive fluids, fluids with particulates, inks, pigments, anaerobic fluids, and dialysate used for hemodialysis.
The KNF Type NF1.25 micro diaphragm pump offers a high-pressure solution for dosing or transferring liquids or liquid-gas mixtures at flow rates up to 300 ml/min. This small and powerful pump is engineered to operate either intermittently or continuously against pressure up to 6 barG (87 psig) over the pump’s entire lifetime. Versions can be specially developed to handle pressure up to 10 barG (145 psig).
Designed for the recirculation and transfer of fluids in medical devices, magnetically coupled centrifugal pumps feature components that are integrated into a compact, lightweight unit. The design of the Integrity series eliminates the need for motor bearings and leaves the impeller assembly as the only moving part. The magnetic-drive pumps weigh approximately 10 oz and are driven by a 12-V brushless dc motor.
Two- and three-way solenoid valves are offered with a choice of tab or integrated coil. Series 204 and 304 can operate in applications requiring high pressure ratings. The direct-acting valves are suited for air and liquid applications that extend to light oil. The compact components are available in both normally closed and normally open configurations.
Split-septum swabbable valves for infection control are designed to eliminate the need for needles. Featuring a patented design, the tube-end luer valves can be used in a variety of applications requiring high flow and a closed system.
An in-line flow-control switch features both a female and a male luer lock. Consisting of a polycarbonate body and an acetal slider that acts as an on-off switch, the high-pressure 97337 switch can be used in any application that involves liquid flow and requires in-line shutoff capability. When in the on position, it accommodates flow pressures up to 1200 psi.
A heavy-duty pneumatically operated dispensing valve is designed for medical device assembly applications. A lightweight diaphragm valve designed for precise flow control of low- to medium-viscosity liquids, the Fisnar DV509 can run around the clock.

The VSO Max can be used with operating inlet pressures of up to 60 psi with response times of less than 20 milliseconds. The valve features three standard control voltage ranges (5, 12, and 24 V dc). A small footprint lends flexibility to a line of base-mounted four-way rotary air valves. The manually operated three-position closed-center valves have an operating pressure range of 0 to 150 psig. Edwards Lifesciences Corp., the global leader in the science of heart valves and hemodynamic monitoring, announced that a federal jury today found that Edwards' U.S. Andersen transcatheter heart valve patent is valid and that Medtronic CoreValve LLC willfully infringes it. Edwards will move vigorously to enforce this verdict and intends to seek a permanent injunction. The jury also awarded Edwards $74 million in damages, and the willfulness finding allows Edwards to seek increased damages of up to three times that amount.
