Cyanta Analytical Services (Maryland Heights, MO), an analytical service provider to the pharmaceutical and medical device industry, and Global BioDevelopment, a consulting firm for life science companies, have finalized a business agreement in which each organization would share sales, marketing, and technical capabilities to help grow each other's business.  Analytical work and medical device testing will be performed at Cyanta while Global BioDevelopment will provide in-depth regulatory support to clients regarding FDA requirements, and will assist with designing comprehensive programs that efficiently help clients achieve their development goals.   

Disposable device contract manufacturer Command Medical Products Inc. (Ormond Beach, FL) has been selected by Medtronic Inc. (Minneapolis) as one of its top-ten suppliers to win a "Medtronic Supplier Excellence Award." The award recognizes superior performance for quality, delivery, cost, and technology.

Eastman Chemical Co. (Kingsport, TN) polymers technology research associate and lead inventor of the Tritan copolyester, Emmett Crawford, received the Society of Chemical Industry 2010 Gordon E. Moore Medal at Innovation Day 2010 in Philadelphia. The medal recognizes a breakthrough innovation made by an industrial scientist younger than 45 years old and acknowledges innovations that have a significant impact on a company's business by creating a new market, expanding an existing market, or commercializing new process technology.

Objet Geometries (Rehovot, Israel), a provider of 3-D printing systems for rapid prototyping and additive manufacturing, has received ISO 13485:2003 certification. The company says that the certification reinforces its commitment to serving the medical device manufacturing industry.

Microbiology lab service provider Nelson Labs (Salt Lake City) has announced that it also provides distribution and transportation package testing services in addition to performing microbiology and sterility tests. By performing all of these services, the company claims that it can help medical device OEMs save time and money while streamlining processes.
