Orthpedics outsourcing partner Millstone Medical Outsourcing (Fall River, MA) announced plans to lease a 26,000-sq-ft building located near its headquarters that will allow for the expansion of materials management, post-sterile-release processes, kitting and assembly work, and warehousing and distribution activities.

The Cryogenic Institute of New England Inc. has completed a transition to a new facility in Worcester, MA. Featuring nearly 5000-sq-ft of space, the facility will enable the company to expand its operations relating to the Nitrofreeze cryogenic services, which include cryogenic burr removal, cryogenic deflashing, conventional cryogenic treatment, heat and freeze thermal cycling, shrink-fitting services, and dry ice blast cleaning.

Teknor Apex Co. (Pawtucket, RI) has announced the completion of its acquisition of Royal DSM's Sarlink thermoplastic vulcanize elastomer business. The Sarlink operation, including employees, technologies, compounding capabilities, and sales operations on three continents, has now become part of Teknor Apex's thermoplastic elastomer division, but will supply products under the Sarlink brand.

ISO 13485:2003-certified manufacturer NeedleTech Products Inc. recently opened the doors to a new 73,000-sq-ft facility in North Attleborough, MA. The company says that the plant will allow it to provider faster turnaround and expand its capabilities in metal fabrication, overmolding, cleanroom assembly and packaging, and quick-turn prototyping to the medical device industry.

Software provider Plex Systems Inc. (Auburn Hills, MI) will give live demonstrations of the company's SaaS ERP solution for medical device manufacturers on Thursday, November 11, 2010, from 2-3 pm EST. Tailored for medical device manufacturers, the Webinar will allow participants to explore the platform as they would in their day-to-day operations. The company maintains that the software can optimize and improve lean production, inventory control, batch production, allergen tracking, quality assurance, corrective action programs, and regulatory reporting.
